    STUDENT REGISTRATION

    Welcome to Somers Point School District !!!

    If your child has previously attended Somers Point School District, please contact Amy Hoffman at 609-653-1027 Ext. 6021 or ahoffman@sptsd.org.

    All new students need to be registered in our online registration portal.  Once your online application is submitted, you will be contacted for a registration appointment.  If you are not contacted within two (2) business days of your online registration, or are having a problem with the registration, please contact Amy Hoffman at 609-653-1027 Ext. 6021

    The following documents are required to complete the application process and should be brought with you to your registration appointment.

    • Birth Certificate
    • Driver’s License or Photo ID of guardians
    • Transfer card from a previous NJ school -OR- copy of a withdrawal form from a previous out-of-state school.  If your child is starting school for the very first time, this document is not required.
    • Latest physical from their doctor
    • Current Health Record/Immunization records. (If you do not have one on hand, your family doctor should be able to supply you with a copy.) Please note, if your child is new and has never attended school before or your child is transferring from another school within NJ, your child MAY NOT attend until an immunization record is provided. If your student is transferring in from out of the state or out of the country, you will have a 30 day grace period to submit the immunization records.
    • Divorce / Custody / Guardianship papers, if applicable* (*If both parents do not reside with the student, the registering parent MUST provide legal documentation verifying primary residential custody.)
    • If a student is classified, a copy of the current IEP
    • Proof of Residency: (See below for requirements) Pictures of Envelopes will NOT be accepted as Proof.
    • You must provide any ONE of the following, which must include the parent/guardian name and local address:
      • A Mortgage Statement
      • Current lease/rental agreement
      • Current Tax Bill

                       AND

      • You must also provide any TWO of the following, which must include parent/guardian name and local address:
    • Current Utility statements (gas, electric, cable)
    • Recent Post Office Change of Address Form/Notification

    Preschool Registration for the Somers Point School District is open.

    Register your child anytime after their 3rd birthday.

    For Kindergarten, your child must be 5 years old by October 1, 2025.

    NOTE:   If your child is currently enrolled in the Somers Point Pre-K program,

    You only need to provide an updated immunization record. DO NOT Re-register

     

    Document Scanning Instructions
     *If you don’t have access to a scanner, you can scan documents using your smartphone.
    Please do not zip or compress your files as they will not be delivered to us and it will delay the registration process.


    Scanning Documents Using An iPhone
     Open *Notes* on your iPhone or iPad.
    Create a *new note* or tap on an existing one to add a document to it.
    Tap the *camera button* at the bottom of the *screen* or above the keyboard.
    Tap *Scan Documents*.
    Line up the *document* you want to scan.
    Tap the *shutter button* if the scanner doesn't automatically scan the document.
    Repeat this step for every document you want to scan.
    Tap *Save* after you've scanned all of the necessary pages.
    The button will have a count of how many pages you scanned.

    Scanning Documents Using An Android Phone – 2 options
    Download the Free App on the Genius Scan – PDF Scanner or Open the Google Drive app.
    In the bottom right, tap Add. Tap *Scan*.
    Take a photo of the *document* you'd like to *scan*.
    Adjust *scan* area: Tap Crop.
    Take a photo again: Tap Re-*scan* current page.
    *Scan* another page: Tap Add.
    To save the finished *document*, tap Done.

    Once your documents are received, you will be contacted by Central Registration for an appointment.

    WALK-IN REGISTRATIONS ARE NOT ALLOWED.

    FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED UPON COMPLETED REGISTRATION

    PreK-3 students may be chosen based on need if seats are limited.
