Mr. Christopher Kobik

 
Christopher Kobik retired after 37 years experience in three different districts as a Teacher, Vice Principal, Middle School Principal, Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Superintendent.  He taught in Maine, Jamesburg - Monroe NJ, and worked in his administrative positions at Lower Cape May Regional.  Mr. Kobik authored the application for the Richard M Teitelman Middle School's Blue Ribbon Designation, facilitated major district-wide curriculum renewal projects, and established many successful community and business partnerships.  He was nominated as an NJBIZ Health Care Hero for his work as a founding member of the Cape Regional Wellness Alliance.  Funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the group worked to combat ACES Adverse Childhood Experiences in Cape May County.  Extensive professional Development for Teachers, Law Enforcement, Business, Health Care, and Faith Based Communities have resulted in far reaching Policy and practice changes.  Chris has been recognized by the State as a leader in Career and Technical Education and served on State and National Advocacy panels promoting CTE for all students regardless of economic status or disability. He currently serves on the Board of Education for the Cape May County Vocational Technical and Special Services School Districts.
 
After retiring Mr. Kobik has worked between the months of January and June as an interim Superintendent at Southampton Township School District, Lumberton Township School District and the Upper Township School District.
 
As an Interim Superintendent he is committed to engaging the school district community, establishing open communication, and working to support the many excellent educators and programs in the Somers Point School District.
