In accordance with the “Open Public Meeting Act” P.L. 1975 C321, this is a notice of a Special Board Meeting for a Public Hearing on the 2019/20 Budget of the Somers Point Board of Education to be held on Thursday, May 02, 2019 at 7:00 P.M at the Jordan Road School, 129 Jordan Road, Somers Point, NJ 08244.
Please remember that conference slots will fill up quickly; therefore, the best way to ensure the time and date that works best for your schedule is to book the conference using the electronic format. The link for booking your conference is:
If you wish to have a group conference with multiple teachers that work with your child, then please book a common slot on EACH of the teachers’ conference schedules. Be sure to indicate the other teachers you are scheduling the conference with on the electronic form. Please remember to schedule with Special Education teaches, Special Areas and Related Services Staff (Speech, Occupational Therapy, Guidance, Nurse, etc.) if these staff members work with your child. Please feel free to contact your child’s school if you have any questions or need further assistance. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

4th and 5th Grade students are invited to become a member of the Builder’s Club. This club is led by Mrs. Smock.
The following Clubs are open to EVERYONE in the school!
-The Coding Club is led by Miss Cellucci
-The Art Club is led by Mrs. Thoms
-The Performing Arts Club is led by Mrs. Unsworth
-The Band is under the instruction of Mr. Tostevin
-The Chorus is under the instruction of Mrs. Tucker
All 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade students are invited to become a member of the following clubs:
-The Yearbook Club is led by Miss Cassaro
-The Student Council is led by Mrs. Kallen
-The Communication Club is led by Mrs. Albrecht
-The Student Ambassador/Safety Patrol is led by Mrs. Edge
-The Think Team is led by Mrs. Smock
Mrs. Lichtenstein will lead a Science Club for all 7th and 8th Grade students.
The National Junior Honor Society is for all qualifying 8th grade students and is led by Mrs. Cowley and Miss Cassaro.
The New Jersey School of Conservation was happy to welcome the students from the Somers Point School District for a week of engaging ecology classes and outdoor activities. This trip represents a long-standing dedication to environmental education by the teachers and administrators, and this year’s sixth grade class arrived in Stokes State Forest....
