ASTHMA & ALLERGY ACTION PLANS

ASTHMA & ALLERGY ACTION PLANS

As we move closer to in-person instruction, we would like to remind everyone who has a child with asthma or allergies of the importance of visiting your child’s healthcare provider (HCP) to review their action plan for the return to in-person school. Students require an updated action plan at the beginning of every school year. The use of a nebulizer may spread COVID-19 virus particles in the air; therefore, students will not be using a nebulizer in school this year for routine control of asthma. Students will be required to use a rescue inhaler (MDI) with a spacer. Please make sure to keep one at home and one in school.
For your convenience, below are an asthma action plan and an allergy action plan that can be downloaded and printed for your child’s healthcare provider to fill out. Attached is also a
helpful link with additional information regarding returning to school with asthma.

As always, you can also contact your School Nurse for additional information and assistance. Thank you!
