About Us
The Somers Point School District (Preschool through 8th grade) consists of three schools.
The Jordan Road School, constructed in 1966 with an addition in 1991, is a Fourth through Eighth-grade building. This school also houses the Central Office, Business Office, and Child Study Team Offices.
Dawes Avenue School was constructed in 1998 and sits on the other side of town and houses Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
The district is noted for its diverse population that excels not only academically but also in school-related activities, including sports, the arts, and service organizations. The district has been fortunate to have an active Education Foundation that has funded technology programs, mini-grants, and the annual Stokes Trip, investing approximately $250,000 in our schools over the past ten years.
